Rain Rain Rain

Last week in Barnegat we had about 5 inches of rain!  Even with the hot weather over this weekend, this amount of rain provides the perfect breeding habitats for Aedes albopictus (Asian Tiger Mosquito) in buckets, flower pots, or any containers that may have collected water.  With more rain in the forecast for the end of the week our inspectors are working overtime to try to combat the mosquito population in their larval stage.  This is the best way to prevent mosquitoes and you can help also by doing a walk-thru of your yard and dump out any standing water you may have accumulating.  In the hot temperatures mosquitoes can go from larvae to adult in as fast  days!  So lets nip them in the tush before the next round of rain comes at the end of the week!
